"These oak cups have been ebonised with an iron-oxide solution. The solution reacts to the tanin in the wood and and the end result is a black with a blue tinge, almost like ink.
Ces tasses en chêne sont ébonisées avec une solution avec un taux élevé en oxyde de fer. En contact avec le tanin du bois il en résulte une finition noire bleuâtre qui se rappelle l'encre."
